    The boat

    100.5 meters long and 18 meters wide, its dimensions make it very easy to handle and particularly suitable for navigation in polar waters. The MS Spitsbergen can carry 335 passengers on board during the trip.

    Activities and entertainment

    During the trip and between two stopovers, maintain your physical condition in the fitness room (rowers, treadmills, etc.)!

     

    For relaxation, aft of deck 7, the sauna and the vast terrace with two whirlpool baths are particularly pleasant.

    On board MS Spitsbergen, you have two dining options. The main dining room Torget is located aft of deck 5. This restaurant allows you to taste local products and Scandinavian specialties.

     

    The Bistro Brygga is more for snacks. Spitsbergen has a bar and lounge.

     

    The Explorer's bar is perfect for a drink with friends, in a pleasant and comfortable setting.

     

    Finally, the Explorer lounge offers a breathtaking view of the landscape, at the front of the ship. It is also in this room that the conferences are presented.

     

    Accommodation on board MS Spitsbergen

    MS Spitsbergen has 243 beds and you can choose between different cabin categories. For simple comfort, you have Polar interior or exterior cabins, with shower room, WC, double bed or separate beds, and porthole or porthole for the exterior cabins.

     

    more comfort, opt for an Arctic Superior cabin, from 11 to 18 m².

     

    And for an even more comfortable cabin and an unforgettable cruise, treat yourself to an Expedition Suite of 28 to 33 m², equipped with a balcony to enjoy the view of the sea.

     

    Environment

    Since 1932, the Norwegian company HX-Expeditions has been taking readings of water temperatures and salinity levels, but also on the modification of algae. These surveys are carried out in collaboration with the Norwegian institutes for water research and marine research.

     

    Also, in certain regions such as Svalbard, for example, HX-Expeditions participates in a project to list the marine mammals of the Arctic.
