Learn more about MS Fram

Vessel

The MS Fram is equipped with all the equipment necessary for polar exploration, iceberg detection lights, higher icebreaker, and one of nine decks which is used to store expedition equipment. Also, its dimensions: 114 meters long, for 20 meters wide, allow it to navigate easily in polar waters. It can carry 254 passengers (200 in Antarctica) who stay in the 125 cabins of the boat.

Activities and entertainment

HX-Expeditions has bet with the Fram on the importance of observing nature, landscapes and marine fauna, with vast outdoor spaces. Thus, deck 8 offers a panoramic view of the sea throughout the trip.

You can also use the binoculars in the Explorer lounge and you can train yourself in the Science Center on deck 4. If you want to exercise on board Fram during the cruise, you can go to the fitness room on deck 7 (equipment gym and ping-pong table).

For relaxation after an expedition on land, you have two saunas and two whirlpool baths with a view of the sea.

Also, a shop allows you to buy some clothes, toiletries and souvenirs.

Gastronomy, bars and lounges

HX-Expeditions offers meals in the two restaurants on deck 4. You have the main dining room and the Lindstrøm gourmet restaurant for quality service. These two dining options are an opportunity to taste the best of Scandinavian cuisine, made with fresh produce and local products.

At the front of deck 7, the Explorer lounge bar, elegant, comfortable and bright thanks to its large bay windows, allows you to admire the exceptional landscape with a good drink.

Accommodation on board MS Fram

On board the MS Fram you choose one of the 125 cabins: Inside Polar (6 to 10 m²), Outside Polar (7 to 21 m²), Arctic Superior (8 to 18 m²) or Expedition Suite (15 to 37 m²). Depending on the category of the cabin, you can have porthole, porthole, separate beds, bunk or double bed.

For a vast, ultra-comfortable space, treat yourself to a 35/37 m² Expedition suite with a balcony to make the most of the landscapes.

Environmental Protection

HX-Expeditions, concerned about preserving the environment, has modernized all its ships with shore power, which reduces NOx and CO2 emissions.

It has also eliminated the use of single-use plastics on board all the boats in its fleet (water bottles, bottles of soap and shower gel, cutlery, etc.). It also fights against food waste.

She is also leading a campaign to ban the use of heavy fuel oil in Arctic waters.
