1-The ship
The Zimbabwe Dream is a modestly sized vessel. Its 33-meter length and 8-meter beam accommodate 8 suites of 18 m² for 16 passengers. Reasonable dimensions combined with a very shallow draught (0.78 m) enable this ship to sail along the shores of Lake Kariba, where the most beautiful African animals abound.
The quality of the passenger areas and the professionalism of the eight-member crew have earned this CroisiEurope ship a 5-star rating.
2-Activities and adult entertainment
The Lake Kariba cruise aboard the Zimbabwe Dream is part of a 9- to 13-day program that takes travelers to the most beautiful natural sites in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
During stopovers, the cruise becomes a safari: overland visits to the Chobé and Marusadona national parks and, of course, the not-to-be-missed Victoria Falls, as well as a trip up the Chobè River aboard light boats. Along the way, naturalist guides introduce visitors to some of the most complete ecosystems on the planet. Accommodation is provided in CroisiEurope's top-of-the-range lodges.
While underway, passengers can watch the scenery and animals from the sun deck, while enjoying a cocktail from the lounge-bar just below.
3-Restaurants, bars and lounges
The restaurant and lounge/bar are bordered by panoramic windows, allowing you to extend your contemplation during meals and drinks. As an Alsace-based company, CroisiEurope is keen to give pride of place to French gastronomy on board its ships. The chef and his team nevertheless offer themed meals devoted to local specialties.
The lounge-bar offers a complete selection of fruit juices, soft drinks, aperitifs, beers, wines, digestifs, coffees and teas. A quality menu, attentive staff and refined surroundings make this the preferred meeting point for passengers wishing to share the sunset and the gentle African night.
4-Cabins
With a surface area of 18 m², the 8 cabins of the Zimbabwe Dream are equipped with large picture windows opening onto a French-style balcony or, in the case of two cabins, onto a small private terrace.
Each cabin has air conditioning, TV, hairdryer, safe, 220V sockets (with adapters supplied), deckchairs and outdoor sofas. An extra bed (150 cm x 80 cm) can be installed for parents traveling with a child.
5-Environmental protection
A small boat with a shallow draft, the Zimbabwe Dream has been designed to minimize its impact on the aquatic flora and fauna of Lake Kariba. Its 300 HP Volvo Penta engines consume little fuel and limit greenhouse gas emissions.
Highly committed to sustainable development, CroisiEurope has signed a partnership agreement with UNESCO to help African river ports in this area.
