Built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri in Genoa, Costa Serena measures 948 feet long and 125 feet wide. It features 13 decks, each named after figures from Greek mythology. The ship can accommodate up to 3,780 passengers in 1,507 cabins and suites, and is staffed by 1,068 crew members.
Costa Serena is equipped with four swimming pools and five jacuzzis. The "Lido Urano" pool features a retractable roof, so you can enjoy a swim in any weather.
The ship also offers an expansive two-level spa and wellness area. The Samsara Spa includes a variety of hydrotherapy facilities and a wide selection of treatments. Head to Venus Beauty for hair styling, makeup, manicures, and pedicures.
If you want to stay active during your cruise, you'll find a large gym and weight training room, a multi-sport court, and a jogging and power walking track that's 492 feet long.
There’s no shortage of entertainment on board, with a three-deck theater (Teatro Giove), a nightclub, and a casino.
Kids can splash around in the water park with colorful slides, or enjoy the Mondo Virtuale game room filled with video games and retro arcade machines.
The ship also features dedicated clubs for kids and teens, divided by age group: the Squok Club, which includes the Mini Club (ages 3 to 6) and the Maxi Club (ages 6 to 11), and the Teen Zone, reserved for teens aged 12 to 17. A variety of age-appropriate activities are organized by professional staff, including fun and athletic games, contests, karaoke, and more.
There are seven dining venues on board Costa Serena, including a buffet restaurant (included in your fare) housed in a spacious two-story main dining room offering a wide variety of dishes. Vegetarian options and accommodations for other special diets are available.
For a refined fusion cuisine experience blending Mediterranean, Asian, and South American influences, make a reservation at the Samsara Restaurant (extra charge).
The ship features 13 bars and lounges, including a piano bar, a sports bar showing live events, and a cigar lounge for enthusiasts.
The cabins on Costa Serena*are furnished with twin beds that convert into a queen, and come with a private shower, TV, safe, and hairdryer. For ocean views, choose an outside or balcony cabin. Suites range from 355 to 463 sq. ft., and include a balcony, a sitting area, and two twin beds that can be joined to form a queen-size bed.
